Description

1948-49 Philadelphia Eagles Championship Ring. Led by head coach "Greasy Neale" and running back Steve Van Buren, the Philadelphia Eagles became the only NFL team ever to win back-to-back championships by shutouts, by defeating the Chicago Cardinals in 1948 and the Los Angeles Rams the following year. Offered here is an extremely scarce 10 karat gold ring, which was presented to an Eagles player or coach in 1949 in recognition of the team's first two league championship victories. Featuring a glistening .06 carat full-cut diamond and Eagle's emblem front and center, "1948" is presented on one shank, with "1949" on the opposite shank. This 10 karat gold "[size] 9 1/4" ring has "T.A.R." stamped inside the band, while exhibiting very light wear. The only similar example to this catalog listing that we could find resides in the confines of Canton's Hall of Fame, which was recently donated by the family of the Eagles' late quarterback Tommy Thompson. An absolute must-have collectible for any discerning Philadelphia football hobbyist.
