Description

1944 Sun Bowl Championship Ring. Along with the Orange Bowl, the Sun Bowl is the second oldest Bowl game in the history of college football. Presented to a member of the victorious Southwestern squad after the 1944 Sun Bowl here we offer a gorgeous presentational ring from the event. Comprised of various members of the V-12 Navy College Training program, the Pirates narrowly defeated the New Mexico Lobos on that fateful day. Suitably offered this year on Veterans Day, the presented ring consists of a beautiful gold overlay, while it has "1944 Sun Bowl Champions" around the perimeter. It is unknown who the ring originally belonged to, although the initials "JHF" are stamped in the interior. An extremely rare and significant piece, it exhibits light wear throughout.
