Description

1941 Bruce Smith Minnesota Golden Gophers National Championship Gold Pendant - From Heisman Winning Season! The most notable Minnesota Gophers football player in history, Bruce Smith won the 1941 Heisman Trophy, the same season the team won the national championship and went 8-0. Behind the tutelage of head coach Bernie Bierman, this marked the team's fifth national title and Smith's Heisman was the first ever in school history.

Offered here is arguably the most important piece of Minnesota Gophers memorabilia to sell publicly - Bruce Smith's 10 karat gold 1941 Gophers national championship pendant. Presenting a spectacular design and superb condition throughout, it was originally obtained from Smith's son, and it displays Minnesota's "M" at the center. In addition it is noted "National Champions, Western Conference 1000%" on the front, while "Bruce Smith Captain Halfback" is engraved on the back. An absolutely amazing artifact that wouldn't look out of place at any sports museum or the College Football Hall of Fame. Letter of provenance from Bruce Smith's son.
