    Description

1939 Joe Carr Signed Cincinnati Reds Season Pass from "The Joe Carr Find." Six decades earlier, professional baseball had been born in Cincinnati, Ohio, so it's rather fitting that one of the leading pioneers of the professional gridiron likewise called that city home. In a fitting display of professional courtesy, complimentary admission to all home games of the eventual National League Champion Reds was afforded to Carr by this cardboard pass, issued to him in the hand of Powel Crosley, Jr., team owner and namesake of the team's storied ballpark.

Reverse holds the endorsing signature of Carr himself, an autograph counted among the last he would ever sign. Just weeks into the 1939 baseball season--May 20th--Carr suffered a fatal heart attack, ending nearly two decades at the helm of the National Football League.

All ink on front and back of the 2.5x4" relic remains wonderfully bold, 9/10 or better. The card is likewise free of any condition concerns. It is arguably the finest autograph exemplar from this extraordinarily rare and important figure known. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
