1936 Green Bay Packers NFL Championship Gold Watch Presented to Hall of Famer Clarke Hinkle. At 5' 11", Clarke Hinkle was not physically large, but he is widely considered to be one of the most bruising and physical players of his era. A workhorse running back and savage blocker, he also played as linebacker, where he was a tremendous blitzer and intimidating tackler. One of the most legendary of any players who sported a jersey for the NFL's most storied franchise, Hinkle was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1964, has a street named after him in Green Bay and the Packers' west practice field was dedicated in his honor in 1997 as "Clarke Hinkle Field."

Simply stated, the current listing represents the most significant Green Bay Packers championship presentational piece ever offered. Not only does this simple yet classy 10 karat gold filled "Gruen" watch represent the first ever Packers championship game victory, it was presented to one of the most important players in team history - Clarke Hinkle.

The watch exhibits near perfect quality, while the movement is good and complete, but currently non-running, as it need to be cleaned. Consisting of 17-jewel precision, it displays superbly. The back of the case reads "Clarke Hinkle Green Bay Packers Championship Team '1936'", and it matches up to the few known exemplars from this issue that have sold in the past from other players.

Consigned directly from Hinkle's girlfriend, it is accompanied by two typed, signed letters that he sent to her in 1977. Also included are two images of Hinkle from her collection, which were taken in the 1970's. An unbelievable link to Curly Lambeau's dynasty teams of the 1930's, this piece will surely turn the heads of the most astute collectors and memorabilia investors. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication.
