Description

1931 Alabama Crimson Tide Gold Pendant Presented to Shorty Frey. Led by head coach Wallace Wade, the 1930 Alabama Crimson Tide completed a 9-0-0 regular season and went on to face Washington State on New Year's Day in the 1931 Rose Bowl. Behind the outstanding play of quarterback Monk Campbell, his team defeated the Cougars by a convincing 24-0 performance, which gave the Tide the 1930 National Championship.

Offered here is an original 10 karat gold pendant that was given to Alabama player Shorty Frey for his contributions for the Tide's 1931 Rose Bowl victory. Exhibiting solid, unblemished condition throughout, this rare gridiron artifact reads "ALABAMA 24 WASHINGTON 0, 1931, SHORTY FREY" on one panel, and "EAST WEST, NEW YEARS DAY, PASADENA" on another side. In addition a gorgeous rose rendering is presented above the laces, which completes this historic memento from one of Alabama's most significant seasons.
