    Description

1928 Providence Steam Roller Presentational NFL Championship Watch. Representing the first New England football team to win a National Football League championship, and one of the rarest gridiron artifacts we've handled, this gorgeous "Elgin" watch was presented to star center Clyde Smith for his part in the Providence Steam Roller's 1928 championship.

Showcasing a truly exquisite style, the 14 karat white gold case exhibits superior condition, while the following engraving is featured on the back: "To Clyde W. Smith, CENTER WORLD'S CHAMPION, STEAM ROLLER, FOOTBALL TEAM, 1928". The first of its kind ever offered publicly, it has been beautifully matched with a vintage 12 karat white gold plated bracelet. Superb piece that was presented to the first-team All-NFLer at the team's "victory banquet" at the Biltmore Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.
