Description
"Everything I Know about the Dallas Cowboys," Volumes Four, Five & Seven. George Blanda, Earl Campbell, Jack Kent Cooke (who writes about the great Washington-Dallas rivalry), Spike Dykes, Jack Elway, Rosey Grier, Lary Csonka, Archie Manning, Don Maynard, Marty Schottenheimer, Mike Shanahan, Dave Shula, Barry Switzer, Herschel Walker, Charlie Waters, George Young, Tim Brown, Bud Carson, Paul Hackett, John Huarte, Jim Kiick, Elmer Layden, Marv Levy, Bill Mallory, Mike Nolan, Alan Page, Steve Sabol, Norv Turner, Jerry Seeman and many others.Wiley Grinnell was, like most Texans, a football fan. He had played and coached the game for many years. He also was a Dallas Cowboys fan and was kidded constantly about how much he knew about the Cowboys. So for a birthday gift his wife and son gave him a large hardback book entitled "Everything I Know About the Dallas Cowboys. by Wiley Grinnell." The book was several hundred pages. The joke was that each page was blank. Grinnell decided over the next several years that he would get Cowboy players, coaches, opponents and other coaches and famous people to give their opinions on the Cowboys.
He would either visit or send the actual book to the person, who would usually respond by writing a letter about the Cowboys and sending it back him. Most of the responses are actually written directly in the book. If someone would send back a separate letter, he would paste it into the book. His responses were outstanding from Presidents of the United States to coach Tom Landry. Even opposing coaches such as Don Shula and George Allen chipped in about their opinions about the Cowboys. Many of the letters offer outstanding unique content never seen before. Some of the letters are worth hundreds of dollars each. However, to preserve history, we are offering each volume intact, each with a treasure trove of Cowboys lore LOA from James Spence Authentication.. There are pictures and information about each respondent in this homemade book throughout to support the autographed letters and signatures. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
