Late 1970's Drew Pearson Game Worn Jersey. Highly-desirable blue durene Dallas Cowboys gamer instantly recalls the favored receiver of the great Roger Staubach and three-time Pro Bowl candidate. The offered jersey is a fabulous relic despite some alterations, namely the sleeve numbers being moved to a higher position straddling the shoulder seams, and a nameplate change. It also does not have the typical rope stitch support intertwined in the zigzag stitch of the front and back numerals. The durene jersey body with embedded sleeve stripes and accompanying black feather edging is present and correct. The numerals are cut in the correct font style for Cowboys gamers and as mentioned, the sleeve numbers have been repositioned. The rear nameplate is correct with its satin twill base size. "D. Pearson" is on the jersey back in proper font; the first initial is included because of the roster presence of Preston Pearson. A "Southland Athletic" label appears inside the collar, accompanied by a cloth flap tag which retains about half of its original size. There is evidence of at least one and perhaps two previous nameplate remnants. The jersey was probably first used by Reggie Rucker in 1971, Ron Sellers in 1972, and then by Pearson perhaps not until 1975 when Preston Pearson joined the team. It should be noted that the Cowboys wore white at home and most other teams wore dark colors at home, meaning that the 'Boys infrequently wore the heavy blue durenes usually only at LA, St. Louis, Cleveland, etc. For this reason, the blue jerseys were used for multiple seasons. This jersey shows acceptable wear and has team repairs. It is altered, and its numeral affixing is an anomaly, but one can still consider it a Pearson gamer, albeit with some flaws. LOA from Lou Lampson.
