Dallas Cowboys 50th Anniversary Celebratory Helmet Created by 3-D Pop Artist Charles Fazzino Benefiting The Salvation Army. World renowned 3-D Pop Artist Charles Fazzino - the Officially Licensed Artist of Super Bowl XLV - has partnered with the Dallas Cowboys to auction off a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork celebrating the football club's 50th Anniversary season. All proceeds from the auction, sponsored by Heritage Auction Galleries, will benefit The Salvation Army. With countless memories to reflect upon during the team's Golden Anniversary recognition, Fazzino has used the Dallas Cowboys iconic silver and blue helmet as a unique canvas to capturing key moments in the franchise's history. The piece depicts the three homes of the Dallas Cowboys - the Cotton Bowl, Texas Stadium and Cowboys Stadium - and highlights members of the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor, the players, coaches and front office staff inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and various other benchmarks from the Dallas Cowboys first 50 years.
The inclusion of The Salvation Army shield in the artwork touches on the the special relationship between the Army and the Star. The Jones Family's dynamic association with The Salvation Army is a visible example of the creative and innovative manner in which the Cowboys can make a difference in the world. Over the last 13 seasons, the Jones Family has dedicated the Cowboys annual Thanksgiving Day halftime show as a national showcase to kickoff The Salvation Army's annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign. The team's association with network television has spawned a donation of $20 million worth of airtime to present nationally televised entertainment extravaganzas that have created a new holiday tradition. Under the direction of Charlotte Jones Anderson - the newly named National Advisory Board Chair for The Salvation Army - the Cowboys have produced the annual halftime event and welcomed nationally recognized entertainers Reba McEntire, Randy Travis, Clint Black, Billy Gilman and Jessica Simpson, Creed, LeAnn Rimes, Toby Keith, Destiny's Child, Sheryl Crow, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jonas Brothers, Daughtry and most recently three-time Grammy Award winning artist Keith Urban. Since 1997, the efforts have helped raise more than $1.3 billion for The Salvation Army, while reaching 30 million people annually. This unique charitable relationship is highlighted during the holiday season, but is sustained throughout the year.
Fazzino's celebration of the Dallas Cowboys 50th Anniversary is certain to be a well-sought after collectible. Only one Dallas Cowboys helmet with this anniversary theme has been created by the artist. Heritage Auction Galleries has waived all fees associated with running the auction to insure that all proceeds from the sale benefit The Salvation Army.
