Description

1973 Dave Wilcox Game Worn Pro Bowl Helmet from The Dave Wilcox Collection. A highly feared linebacker among the 49ers opposing quarterbacks, Dave Wilcox was named to an impressive seven Pro Bowls during his 11-year NFL career. Here we present a Wilson shell that was used in his final Pro Bowl, which also marks the same season when he was named to the Second-Team All-Pro squad. Exhibiting heavy wear throughout, it is Wilcox's 49ers helmet that has been painted white with Pro Bowl decals, and it features "Wilcox" noted on interior athletic tape. The 16-point suspension shell includes its original OPO facemask, which has become detached from the helmet. There is also a well-worn leather headband installed near the neck for added comfort. Letter of provenance from Dave Wilcox. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
