    Description

Circa 1974 World Football League Game Worn Referee Jerseys, Game Balls and More. The chance to play pro football in Hawaii, wear uniquely colored uniforms or battle the powerhouse National Football League were all characteristics that may have enticed players to play for the short-lived World Football League. Offered here is an extremely rare group of game-used pieces from the defunct league, while displaying its unique fashion sense throughout. Included are the following: two blue, white and olive game-worn referee jerseys (each "[size] Large" displays the league's logo patch on the front, with No. 21 stitched on the backs - Sand Knit tags in each neckline); referee's stirrups and belt; referee's cap (league logo patch on front, with no interior tagging); two lightly worn "Spalding" leather game balls (one with commissioner Davidson stamp, and the other without); two yellow penalty flags; an assortment of referee cards. A perfect lot to display on mannequins in any impressive memorabilia room. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
