    Description

Circa 1940 Wilmington Clippers & St. Cecilia Saints Pennants. Every legendary sports figure starts out somewhere, and for the iconic Vince Lombardi, his career as a professional player began as a left guard with the 1937 Wilmington Clippers. Meanwhile, his unmatched leadership skills originated in the 1940's, as Chemistry teacher and Director of Athletics at St. Cecilia High School in Englewood, New Jersey where the Saints recorded a streak of 36 consecutive victories, six state titles and a national championship (in 1943 with quarterback Joe Paterno) during his coaching tenure from 1939-46.

Here we present two scarce pennants harkening back to Vince's early years in football. The "Wilmington Clippers" (27.5x10") and "St. Cecilia" (28x11.25") gridiron treasures feature spectacular colors with period fonts and graphics. The former has a small piece missing from the top border which does not affect the text or graphics.

Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am regarding the sale of my hockey jersey. You were great to work with, you answered all my phone calls and e-mails in a prompt manner, and you did a great job marketing the jersey.
