1994 NFC Championship (aka "The Real Super Bowl") Interception Touchdown Football from The Eric Davis Collection.

Update: Eric Davis confirmed this is the actual football he intercepted and returned for the touchdown. Upon close inspection "25" is written on the laces, presumably by a staffer.

Sports Illustrated billed the 1994 NFC Championship game between the Niners and Cowboys as "The Real Super Bowl" for its January 16, 1995 cover. And it was. The game featured pro football's two best teams and most intense rivalry. Dallas had just won back-to-back Super Bowls with one of the greatest assemblage of talent ever fielded on a gridiron. San Francisco had won four titles in the 1980's but now had their backs up against the wall in the 90's. It was the most important game in the history of the Niners organization.

On the third play of the game, Niners' cornerback Eric Davis picked off Cowboys' quarterback Troy Aikman and returned the ball 44 yards for a touchdown. Three plays later, Davis forced a Michael Irvin fumble which led to another touchdown. The tone had been set for a 49ers victory has been set.

Wilson Official NFL football with Tagliabue facsimile signature and the NFL's 75th anniversary logo displays one painted panel, with San Francisco and Dallas helmets, which reads "Game Ball Presented to Eric Davis 1994 NFC Championship Game. 49ers - 38, Cowboys - 28. January 15, 1995, Candlestick Park." The ball has also been signed "Eric Davis 25" in black sharpie on the brown panel below. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Letter of provenance from Eric Davis. The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
