    Description

1966 New York Jets vs. Boston Patriots Game Used AFL Painted Football. Offered here is an absolutely gorgeous and scarce painted game ball from the December 17, 1966 American Football League contest between the New York Jets. A highly significant "Spalding - Milt Woodard" pigskin, this piece comes from a highly significant time in the league's history, as the groundwork for a merger with the National Football League would begin during the middle part of that year. The ball, which will be sure to turn the heads of the most discerning AFL collectors, originates from the 38-28 victory over their Eastern Division rival. Most likely originally obtained from a Jets team official, this piece will fit nicely in any AFL memorabilia case, next to its high-end colorful counterparts.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
