    Description

    Fifth time's a charm!

1997 Denver Broncos Super Bowl XXXII Championship Ring Presented to Defensive Lineman Trevor Pryce. The first of two Championship rings consigned to auction by the pawn shop which purchased them, and a few other related items, from the Broncos' first selection in the 1997 NFL draft. This example derives from Pryce's auspicious rookie season, one in which he saw eight games of action with twenty-four tackles and two sacks. We'll admit, however, that the greatest relevance of this thirty-second playing of the Super Bowl was the end of two luckless streaks, the Broncos having lost all four of their previous appearances, and the AFC having fallen in each of the previous thirteen.

A team logo emerges from a sea of genuine diamonds on the ring face, sandwiched between raised text trumpeting, "World Champions." Left shank recalls those close calls, listing the year of each Super Bowl appearance with an inset diamond above an NFL logo. "Pryce 93" frames the design. Right shank features more diamonds, forming the football of a figural Lombardi Trophy amidst imagery of Mile High Stadium, the Super Bowl XXXII logo and the words "Denver Broncos."

Interior band appears to have been sized, taking the maker's stamping in the process, to a twelve and a half (12.5). We can confirm, however, that the gold tests to fourteen karats (14K). Total weight is fifty-four grams (54 g.). Letter of provenance from pawn broker who purchased trophy from Trevor Pryce.
