    Description

1985-87 Boomer Esiason Game Worn Cincinnati Bengals Jersey with Team Repair. The 6-5 quarterback was a four-time Pro Bowler and the 1988 NFL MVP, who guided Cincy all the way to Super Bowl XXIII.

Presented here is an early gamer from the dawn of Norman Julius' career. The black mesh sports "7" on the front, back, and sleeves with "Esiason" on the verso nameplate, all screened-on in white/orange heat transfers. Bengal striping decorates the shoulders with "Koch Sporting Goods" and "Russell Athletic 48" labels in the tail. Other design elements include crossover v-neck, double-ply shoulders, scissor-cut sleeve-ends, and extra length (although not designated as such).

There is a major repair to the front right chest but the flaking on the identifiers is age related, not game related. Also, while the baseless "7" is an unusual font for the Bengals at this time, it is no cause for alarm as the team was notoriously inconsistent with fonts, so it's acceptable. Furthermore, we were able to style match the jersey to Getty Images 149657594. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
