    Description

1960 Houston Oilers AFL Championship Ring Presented to Tackle George Shirkey. Historic relic represents the very first Championship for both the Houston Oilers franchise and the American Football League that gave them life, providing enormous relevance to match the nearly pristine condition. It was awarded to rookie tackle George Shirkey, a six-foot four, 260 pound graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas. A large blue stone dominates the face of the ring, encircled by raised text reporting, "AFL Champions." Left shank features the league logo and "Houston Oilers 1960" text. Right shank: "G.R. Shirkey, AFL" with a figural Oilers helmet and football. Interior band is stamped "Balfour 10K" and measures to a massive size thirteen and a half (13.5). Pristine condition. Original purchase LOA.
