1930's-'40's Washington Redskins Game Worn Band Uniform. Look good, feel good, feel good play good. That isn't just the mantra for gridiron talent. The band has to feel good to hit all of those high notes and play in unison on Sundays. This velvet Redskins band outfit was worn in the 1930's or '40's and just had to rev up the football team. The offering is sourced from the family of Redskins equipment staffer Fred Baxter. An intricate design surrounds the neck and sleeve ends. Tassels further enhance the top. The burgundy velvet pants also take on a life of their own with side striping, five functional buttons and a fastener. "Balenger" is written in the waistline in black marker. A "United Costumers Inc." tag is sewn inside as well. The original belt completes the ensemble. The top has surface degradation on the neck trim. Letter of provenance from the family of Washington Redskins assistant trainer/equipment manager Fred Baxter. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
