Signed 1976 Topps Walter Payton Rookie #148 BAS Authentic Auto 10. Walter Payton's nickname was "Sweetness" and he could run with the football like few before him. As the Chicago Bears sensational running back, he racked up an incredible 16,726 rushing yards during the course of his 13-year career, all with the Bears, to set the league's rushing mark upon his retirement following the 1987 season. (Emmitt Smith broke Payton's record several years later.) Offered here is Payton's coveted 1976 Topps rookie card, which is a must-have for any serious football collector. But this example is extra special in that Payton signed the front of it in fine-point blue marker.
