1997 Skybox Metal Universe Brett Favre (Precious Metal Gems-Green) #156 PSA NM 7 - #'d 13/150 - Pop Three, Only One Higher! Brett Favre's 11 Pro Bowl invitations are the fourth most among quarterbacks in NFL history. He is the only player to win the NFL MVP in three consecutive years, doing so from 1995 to 1997, and is one of only six quarterbacks to have won the award, as well as, the Super Bowl MVP in the same season. He and the Packers won Super Bowl XXXI over the New England Patriots. As Favre's career went on, it would become a yearly soap opera for Packers, Jets and Vikings fan alike, using the summer to see if he would finally retire or comeback for another run.The 1997 Skybox Metal Universe Football issue represents the very first of the Precious Metal Gems cards, issued in conjunction with the set's base cards. While the basketball counterparts where first seen the football set is just as eye-catching. Only one hundred and fifty were produced for each player in the set. 135 of the one hundred fifty cards were crafted from Green Foil, with the balance of 15 instead tinted Red. Just like the basketball set of PMG, the football set comes very condition sensitive due to the foil front of card. Offered is an excellent example of Packers legend, Brett Favre in the Green variant. Graded PSA NM 7. Limited edition - #13/150. One of three graded NM with only one higher!
