1972 Topps Roger Staubach #200 PSA Mint 9. There are few players who better reflect the All-American ideal than does Roger Staubach--military hero, sports star, titan of industry in his post-NFL life. He even married his high school sweetheart. The 1963 Heisman Trophy winner played for the U.S. Naval Academy where he graduated with a school-record 4,253 passing yards. Post-graduation, he would volunteer for a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam when he could have stayed stateside. His four years in the Navy made him a twenty-seven year old rookie when he joined Dallas in 1969. He was the first "Captain Comeback" for his ability to stage fourth quarter come-from-behind victories, which certainly inspired future legends like John Elway and Payton Manning. His storied career includes six Pro Bowls and two Super Bowl Championships (1972 and 1977), including an MVP Award in Super Bowl VI. Offered is one of the finest examples of his coveted rookie card from the 1972 Topps issue. Graded PSA Mint 9. One of forty-six at the Mint 9 level with just two rated higher. We find nothing to contradict the PSA assessment. A very sharp example.
