1966 Philadelphia Gale Sayers #38 SGC 60 EX 5. Gale Sayers appeared on the scene with power but also with great style and natural ability. One can only speculate what might have been had one of the most promising careers in football come to a halt too soon. Named the top halfback of the NFL's first half-century in 1969, many wondered if Sayers' short career might keep him outside the gates of Canton. That question was answered in 1977 when Sayers became the youngest inductee to the Football Hall of Fame. The Bears running back strikes the classic ball-carrying pose for this, his rookie appearance with the '66 Philadelphia issue. The card is very clean and attractive, with very minimal corner wear. Graded SGC 60 EX 5, a corner impression in the lower right corner (probably from a corner mount) is difficult to see at first as one is too consumed with the great color and gloss. A fantastic looking card for the grade.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
