1962 Topps Ernie Davis #36 PSA NM-MT 8. College Football Hall of Famer Ernie Davis holds the distinction of being the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy. His talent was recognized early on as the Cleveland Browns traded HoFer Bobby Mitchell for the promising youngster. Davis's sports career was tragically cut short when he was diagnosed with leukemia. His passing at just 23 years old in 1963 is a lesson to us all to appreciate the time we have been given. Offered is the short print rookie card of Davis, card #36 from the 1962 Topps football series. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. One of twenty-eight at the NM-MT level with two rated higher.
