Signed 1958 Topps R.C. Owens (Error - Photo Is Don Owens) #64 PSA VG 3, PSA/DNA Auto 9. R.C. Owens was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the 14th round of the 1956 NFL Draft. Standing at 6 feet 3 inches, his exceptional leaping ability led to the creation of the "Alley Oop" pass play, where quarterback Y.A. Tittle would throw high passes that Owens would leap to catch over defenders. This play became a significant part of the 49ers' offense and influenced similar strategies in both football and basketball. Offered is his signed 1958 Topps football card that actually depicts Don Owens, but is signed by R.C. with "Alley Oop" inscription in thin blue marker.
