Description
1958 Topps Jim Brown Rookie #62 PSA NM-MT 8. The legendary running back might not have been the most elusive rusher who ever suited up in the NFL, but he was famous for being the toughest to bring to the ground, his bone-rattling style resulted in an outrageous 5.2 average yards per carry for his career. Brown once advised fellow Syracuse alumnus John Mackey, "Make sure when anyone tackles you he remembers how much it hurts." That was Jim Brown in a nutshell. He claimed the NFL rushing title all but one of his nine seasons in the League, and his 1,863 rushing yards in 1963 remains a Cleveland Browns superlative, the oldest franchise rushing record of all thirty-two teams.Graded PSA NM-MT 8. Brown was the sixth selection in the 1957 NFL draft, but it wasn't until 1958 that the Topps company officially welcomed the iconic running back to the league, allowing for a celebration of Brown's Rookie of the Year honor in text on verso. The offered representation mimics the theme of quality, a stunner bested only eleven times in over 4,500 submissions.
