    None finer!

1957 Topps Johnny Unitas Rookie #138 PSA Mint 9. Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the ninth round of the 1955 NFL draft, Johnny Unitas was remarkably deemed the worst of four quarterbacks competing for three roster spots and fell back upon construction work to make ends meet, playing quarterback on the weekends for a local semi-pro team paying him six dollars a game. But when a teammate urged him to tag along for a try-out with the Baltimore Colts, the young QB began an era of gridiron dominance unprecedented in the professional game.

This elite trading card finds The Golden Arm at the start of his Hall of Fame career, the brightly colored cardboard issued during the first of four seasons as the NFL's Most Valuable Player. He'd follow up that enormously auspicious 1957 campaign with a heroic victory in the 1958 NFL Championship contest, one celebrated in sports history as "The Greatest Game Ever Played."

For those collectors seeking the ultimate Unitas collectible, the search stops here. Only seven unqualified representations have ever matched the PSA Mint 9 rating of this offering, and none of the more than 2,500 submissions have ever soared higher.
