    Description

1950 Topps Felt Backs Joe Paterno #64 PSA NM-MT 8. The obscure 1950 Topps Felt Backs set features collegiate football players and contains a card of then relatively unknown Joe Paterno as a co-captain and quarterback at Brown University. Already inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, Paterno holds the record for the most victories by a Division IA/ FBS football coach and has coached more bowl game wins and undefeated seasons than any other coach in college football history. At age 82, "Joe Pa" will coach his 60th season on the Penn State coaching staff in 2009, holding the record for most seasons for any football coach at any university. This remarkably high-grade exemplar boasts brilliant coloring and clean front and back card surfaces. Of the 44 Paterno cards submitted to PSA, this is the lone NM-MT 8 with none graded higher. A perfect companion (and upgrade) to the #1 PSA registry set also offered in this auction.
