1972 Topps Football High Grade Near Set (328/351). A high-grade set absolutely bursting with rookie appeal. Staubach, Riggins, Spurrier, Plunkett and Manning all made their cardboard debuts in this issue desired for its bold, simple graphics. Interestingly, this 351-card issue was the last football release to appear in series form. A very pleasant surprise are the scarce third series cards (#'d 264-351) which happen to be the highest grade series of the set. Not a single high-number card books fro less than $20.00. This issue is far and away the most difficult and expensive of all Topps football sets from this decade. A total of 20 cards have been graded by PSA. Highlights include: Graded Cards - PSA NM-MT 8: 16 cards w/#'s 80 Griese, 119, 265 Yary AP, 267 Little AP, 270, 271 Warfield AP, 272 Griese AP, 274, 275, 278 Smith AP, 279 Page AP, 280 Lilly AP, 281 Hendricks AP, 282 Wilcox AP, 286 Bradley AP and 287 Houston AP; PSA NM 7: 4 cards w/#'s 65 Plunkett, 100 Namath, 110 Sayers and 165 Unitas.
