Description

1948 Menko JCM48 Babe Ruth/Michinori Tsubouchi (#46280, Headshot, Baseball Back) PSA Fair 1.5. Babe Ruth, the celebrated "Sultan of Swat," was more than just a baseball icon, he was a social ambassador of the sport whose popularity crossed cultural boundaries. Ruth died of throat cancer in August of 1948 at the age of 53, but his legacy was immortalized by both U.S. and Japanese card makers. The offered card featuring Ruth is from 1948 in the "JCM48" series with Japan Baseball Hall of Fame member Michinori Tsubouchi shown on the reverse. The MLB legend is depicted on the obverse in cartoon form, cherub face and all, swinging a big bat. This is a rare find and a must-have entry for any Ruth specialist. Graded PSA Fair 1.5.
