Description
1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #144 SGC VG 3. Babe Ruth, the popular "Bambino," was always one of Major League Baseball's greatest showmen. An incredible longball hitter with 714 home runs and 2,214 runs batted in, Ruth was often the one who supplied the offense when the New York Yankees needed more runs. After he finally retired following the 1935 season, he had seven World Series rings to his name (three with the Boston Red Sox, four with the Yankees), and was part of the Baseball Hall of Fame's inaugural class of 1936.Presented is a very nice looking 1933 Goudey card #144 capturing a full-body image of Ruth showing off his patented home run swing. Of the four different cards that feature Ruth in the set, this one is a favorite amongst collectors and a must-have addition for anybody trying to complete a set or their personal Ruth collection. This example of card #144 from the '33 Goudey set is found in middle-grade condition with a light crease in the lower right corner. A moot point with the very pleasing colors, decent centering, acceptable corners that are connected by a frosty white border and a clean reverse. Graded SGC VG 3.
