Description

1887 N28 Allen & Ginter "The World's Champions" Adrian "Cap" Anson PSA NM 7. Cap Anson was one of baseball's first superstars. Not just any member of the 3,000 Hits club, he was the founding member of the selective fraternity which set the standard for future excellence. His handlebar mustache and steely look of determination helps captivate the viewer as one gazes upon this quintessential Victorian era issue. It is no wonder the N28 edition is arguably the most popular of the 19th Century tobacco insert sets. A frosty white field surrounds Caps' boldly printed waist-high portrait. One first notices the quality corners show mere hints of wear at the tips and then the overall absence of noteworthy wear justifies the PSA NM 7 assessment. A wonderful example for the grade of the set's most desirable and valuable subject.

Guide Value or Estimate: $10,000 - up.
