1948 Tony Zale vs. Marcel Cerdan Boxing Match Ticket. The boxing match between Tony Zale and Marcel Cerdan never took place, though it was highly anticipated at the time. Tony Zale, known as the "Man of Steel," was the reigning middleweight champion after his legendary battles with Rocky Graziano, while Marcel Cerdan was a rising star from France, known for his powerful punching and impressive record. After Zale lost the middleweight title to Graziano in 1947, Cerdan went on to win the title from Graziano in 1948, but the opportunity for a bout between Zale and Cerdan never materialized. Cerdan's career was tragically cut short when he died in a plane crash in 1949, preventing what could have been an epic middleweight showdown.Offered is a ticket to the event. Expected age related wear.
