1930's Joe Louis Photo Pins on Original Advertising Display. Rare offering from the sweet science's golden age delivers you back to the 1930's when you could walk into a Chicago drugstore and see a display like the one offered here. Twenty-five photo lapel pins all picture the great heavyweight champion, Joe Louis, in a variety of shapes and colors, including two in the shape of the state of Illinois. Louis fought most of his early professional fights, including his July 4, 1934 professional debut, in the Chicago area. In total he fought sixteen bouts in the Windy City during the 1930's.

Green cardboard display (10x7") by "Photo Pin Mfg. Co...Chicago" advertises "Wear...Official Joe Louis Photo Pin...Ten Cents" and is framed to the dimensions of 11.25x8.25". The photo on one pin is no longer present and the poster exhibits some mild staining and border wear, however neither of these minor distractions significantly detract from the overall brilliance of the display.
