1938 Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling II On-Site Program. The two bouts between Joe Louis and Max Schmeling, in 1936 and 1938, were worldwide cultural events because of their national associations. In Louis-Schmeling I, the German champion knocked out The Brown Bomber in the twelfth Round. Here is an on-site program to Louis-Schmeling II, when Louis avenged his loss with a swift first round TKO at Yankee Stadium in New York City. Unscored, this program is EX/MT with a light, unobtrusive black mark caused in the printing process extending from the top to just below Schmeling's image. This rare 88 year old piece of sports history is one of the nicer programs we have ever seen and exhibits exceptionally rich cover colors with very pleasing eye appeal.Auction Info
