Description

Circa 1990 "Ali Knocks Out Foreman" Oversized Oil on Canvas Painting by William Weldon. Acclaimed sports artist William Weldon's passion for boxing and Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali, inspired him to capture "moments in time" from The Greatest's most iconic bouts, versus Liston, Frazier and Foreman, in oversized oil on canvas master works.

In the original painting presented here, Weldon captures a fortified Muhammad Ali as he prepares to deliver the knockout punch against George Foreman, who is seconds away from hitting the canvas. The in-ring perspective that the artist delivers puts us in the ring in Zaire, mere inches away from the combatants, whom are perfectly placed against the backdrop of the ropes and the audience peering up from under the mat, all of which is fueled by a tapestry of colors. Framed to the dimensions of 54x42.5" (46.5x35" visible in frame). Letter of provenance from Troy Kinunen.
