Description

Circa 1956 Rocky Marciano Signed Boxing Gloves. Rocky Marciano ended his boxing career with zero defeats. All too many careers include stumbling to the finish line. The Rock from Brockton had 49 fights and 49 victories during his in-ring career. Tragically, his life was cut short when he was killed in an airplane crash in 1969 at age 45. This has left a severe shortage in his autograph - especially on the medium we are providing. Offered are signed boxing gloves (both right hand) by Marciano. Both gloves are signed on the inside in blue ballpoint and include an inscription. "To Jim To My Friend" is on one glove. The other has "Best Always Jim." The autographs range from 6/10 to 7/10 but do show up clearly against the cloth exterior. One of the gloves has the following written on the outside: "Rocky Marciano Gift to James D. Norris April 27, 1956" and "Retirement Party." We cannot attribute that writing to the champ. Authentication comes with a letter from The Stanley Weston Collection and a letter from Craig Hamilton. Letter of provenance from The Stanley Weston Collection. Letter of provenance from Craig Hamilton. Two Full LOA's from PSA/DNA.
