    Description

Circa 1905 Abe Attell Cabinet Photograph. When boxing historian discuss who was the greatest fighter pound for pound in ring history, the name of Abe Attell is always somewhere near the top of the list. Abe stood a mere 5' 4" and weighed in at 122 pounds, but often fought fighters in the featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, and middleweight divisions. After winning two epic battles over the immortal George Dixon, Attell claimed the vacated featherweight Championship, but it wasn't until four years later with a four round TKO victory over Tommy Sullivan in 1908 that Abe was finally crowned the undisputed featherweight Champion. When the books were finally closed on Abe's outstanding career the pages recorded 165 Bouts, 92 Wins (51 by Knockout), 10 Losses, 18 Draws and 45 No Decisions. Offered here is an outstanding cabinet photo of the "Little Hebrew", posed wearing his Championship belt, that measures approximately 8x9.25". There is minor edge wear and a few light smudge marks along the borders. The photographic image remains unobstructed and remains exceptionally clear.
