Description

1997 Roberto Duran Fight Worn Trunks from First Jorge Castro Bout. With his Manos de Piedra (Hands of Stone), this four-weight World Champion clubbed his way into the sport's pantheon, all but universally considered one of the top ten fighters of all time. Though his best years were behind him as he stepped through the ring ropes to meet Jorge Castro on February 15, 1997, he remained a powerful drawing card at Argentina's Mar del Plata. Duran would lose the ten-round unanimous decision, but avenge that loss four months later in his home nation of Panama.

These distinctive white satin trunks are a perfect match to footage from that event, with "Roberto" and "Duran" adorning front and back of the black waistband, and a Panamanian flag and various advertising decorating the lower portions. Interior waistband is tagged "Bertinelli [size] L" with a dry cleaning flap tag. Light staining and fading cause little distraction. LOA from Craig Hamilton. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
