1987 Jack Sharkey The World Boxing Hall of Fame Presentation Plaque with Correspondence. Jack Sharkey joined fellow boxing greats when he received a Hall of Fame nod in 1997. In 1980, Everett Sanders founded the World Boxing Hall of Fame as a way to recognize the sport's great history. Each year a new crop of legends joined the elite list. In 1987, Sharkey was able to add the term "Hall of Famer" next to his name. This wooden plaque (10.5x13") has everything spelled out against a gold placard on front. A few letters (one congratulating his induction), program, various tickets and a few newspaper clippings are also included. Light surface wear is visible.
