1985 Larry Holmes vs. Michael Spinks Full Ticket, PSA VG 3. The boxing match between Larry Holmes and Michael Spinks took place on September 21, 1985, at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This fight was highly anticipated as Holmes was attempting to tie Rocky Marciano's record of 49-0, a feat that had stood since Marciano's retirement. Holmes, the reigning IBF heavyweight champion, faced Spinks, the undisputed light heavyweight champion making his debut in the heavyweight division.Spinks' strategy involved using his agility and unorthodox style to outmaneuver the heavier and more experienced Holmes. Over the course of 15 rounds, Spinks' tactics proved effective as he landed more punches and avoided Holmes' power shots.
