Description
1979 Sugar Ray Leonard Championship Pendant Presented to His Wife. This very personal keepsake was the Boxing Hall of Famer's gift to his young wife Juanita after stopping reigning WBC Welterweight Champ Wilfredo Benitez in the fifteen round of their November 1979 bout to claim the title. A full carat of real diamonds stud the face of the ten karat gold pendant, which features boxing glove imagery and the lettering, "Sugar Ray Leonard, World Champion." A simple engraved inscription on the back reads simply, "Love, Ray." The chain is fourteen karat gold. Condition is flawless. A letter of provenance from noted boxing historian Gary Schultz is included.Auction Info
