1975 Muhammad Ali vs. Chuck Wepner On-Site Boxing Poster. Ali's first fight after the fabled Rumble in the Jungle played out much as expected, with the Champion dominating "The Bayonne Bleeder" before finally scoring a technical knockout shortly before the final bell of the fifteenth round. But the woefully overmatched Wepner dropped Ali in the ninth, nearly scoring a stunning upset. As a young Sylvester Stallone watched the bout, he was inspired to create a tough underdog movie character we've all come to know as Rocky Balboa.This is one of the rarest poster of Ali's domestic bouts, just the second to appear on the hobby's major auction block in the past fifteen years. Corner wear, including some cellophane tape at upper left, is only apparent upon close inspection. Framed to dimensions of 16x23".
