Description

1974 Muhammad Ali vs. George Foreman Rare "From Slaveship to Championship" Boxing Poster. One of the most coveted post-war boxing posters that exists, this model hyping the fight immortalized as "The Rumble in the Jungle" was deemed too controversial for public display and quickly stifled, leaving only a scant few to survive to present day. With two black Champions battling on the African continent, the slogan "From Slaveship to Championship" seemed particularly apt, but promoters ultimately opted for the title coined by Ali himself. Poster is linen-backed with restoration at the fold lines that has resulted in a NRMT aesthetic. Dimensions 25x38", not inclusive of extra linen at edges.
