    Description

1971 Ali-Frazier I Fight Posters Lot of 2. On March 8, 1971, undefeated Joe Frazier defended his Heavyweight belt against a Muhammad Ali who was stripped of the title as a result of expressing his views on the Vietnam War in 1967. Neither fighter had lost a bout at the time of this championship match, which was given the name Fight of the Century by pre-fight promotional organizers. Madison Square Garden was the setting for the hype-filled event, which saw Ali lose his first pro fight in a unanimous decision after 15 rounds. Here we offer two identical posters promoting the event, perhaps a pair of the same ones that hung at MSG on that historic evening.
