1964 Jack Dempsey John W. McCormack Citation of Honor For Clean Sportsmanship Plaque. Jack Dempsey was revered wherever he went. Our nation's capital even honored the great boxer in 1964 with a 10x16" plaque for his unrivaled sportsmanship in the squared circle. Two plaques were created and one was given to the champ while the second was on display in Congress for years. After being removed it was sold in an estate sale. The hard metal plaque has "The Speaker's Rooms U.S. House of Representatives Washington March 13, 1964" engraved along with a proclamation. John William McCormack's facsimile signature closes out the piece of boxing history. Storage wear appears.
