1963 Muhammad Ali vs. Henry Cooper I Vintage Photographs, Lot of 4. The first boxing match between Muhammad Ali, then known as Cassius Clay, and Henry Cooper took place on June 18, 1963, at Wembley Stadium in London. Ali entered the fight as a rising star in the heavyweight division, facing Cooper, who was known for his powerful left hook and was a crowd favorite in England. The fight is famous for Cooper knocking Ali down with his "Enry's 'Ammer" left hook near the end of the fourth round, a dramatic moment that nearly changed the course of boxing history. However, Ali recovered and went on to stop Cooper in the fifth round due to a severe cut on Cooper's eye, securing his victory in a bout that added to his growing legend and showcased his resilience and skill under pressure.Offered are four vintage photographs from the bout. They are 8x10" except for the close up of Cooper's bloody face (6x8").
