    Description

1962 Cassius Clay vs. Archie Moore On-Site Poster. With a record of 184-22-10, Archie Moore had nothing left to prove in the ring in 1962. Still, the old timer decided to give young upstart Cassius Clay a chance at him in Moore's second to last fight at age forty-five. Moore already held the record for knockouts, and his total of 131 still ranks first all-time. In this match, however, Moore was heavily outmatched by the much younger and faster Cassius Clay. He was knocked out in the fourth round, as predicted before the fight by Clay.

The offered poster was used on site at the fight, and measures 14x22." In neon orange, it advertises Moore as the "World's Light Heavyweight Champion" and Clay as "The Undefeated Louisville Lip." Photographs of both pugilists are found at the bottom of the poster. A couple of corner creases and natural, consistent toning are the only distractions of note, and are exceedingly minor.

The hammer price for my Mantle card significantly exceeded my admittedly conservative estimations, and I couldn't be more pleased.
