1940 Sugar Ray Robinson Gold Gloves Charm. A larger-than-life figure, Sugar Ray Robinson was a showman above all else. After amassing an 89-0 amateur record, he forged one of the finest careers the squared circle has witnessed. Considered by many as the top boxer of all time, Robinson could jab you to death or simply knock out his opponents. Presented here is the Golden Gloves charm given to Sugar Ray Robinson in 1940 for his victory in the lightweight open division. The 14k charm consists of two gloves with a diamond in between. On the right glove is engraved, "The News Welfare Assn. Inc. Golden Gloves, 1940, 135 lbs., open." Accompanying the charm is a letter of authenticity from the son of Sugar Ray Robinson with an additional LOA from Craig Hamilton/ JO Sports. Letter of provenance from Ray Robinson II.
