1938 Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling II Full Ticket, PSA PR 1. On June 22, 1938, World Heavyweight Champion Joe Louis defended his title against German challenger Max Schmeling at Yankee Stadium in New York. This was one of the most anticipated fights in boxing history. Schmeling had inflicted the only defeat on Louis two years earlier and now, against the backdrop of war and the rise of Hitler and the Nazi regime in Germany, these two met again. The fight was one-sided. Louis came out aggressive from the start and dealt Schmeling a terrific beating that resulted in a first round knockout. It is reported that before Schmeling could be counted out, that Hitler had the plug pulled on the broadcast to Germany.

Presented here is a scarce and desirable full ticket to this event. Features head shots of both fighters and their names in raised, gold lettering. Encapsulated by PSA, PR 1.
